Pretty Xlendi Bay lies on the west coast of Gozo, an island long thought to be the mythical Ogygia of Homer's Odyssey. In the story, Calypso fell in love with Odysseus and held him captive for seven years.. The reputed Calypso Cave is just one of several intriguing caves on the island. There's also Caroline's Cave, a natural grotto that was once a private swimming hole for nuns. Surprisingly for such a small island, Gozo is home to the oldest freestanding temples in the world, the Ggantija Temples, nestled among the rolling green hills. You should also visit the Citadella, a small, fortified town that houses the island's Cathedral, the Museum of Archaeology, the Folklore Museum, and the Old Prisons.

It is the masterwork of Bernini and welcomes pilgrims to the largest temple in Christianity. The dome was designed by Michelangelo. Your tour will continue to the Ostiense Gate , right next to the amazing Pyramid of Caio Cestio, built in 12 B.C., and the Baths of Caracalla, the second largest spa in ancient Rome. Then you will head to the Circus Maximus, which could welcome 320,000 spectators who watched chariot races there. Pass by the Colosseum, constructed in only 8 years, where over 70,000 spectators could take a seat and leave the building in only a few minutes through its 80 entries. Your drive will continue to St. Paul's Basilica Outside the Walls , where you will have free time to explore on your own. The coach will wait for you in the vicinity to return you to the airport. Please note: There are 3-4 steps to enter and exit the coach and a few steps in St. Paul's Basilica.

You'll cruise along the coastline, admiring the city’s beauty from the comfort of a boat, with the opportunity to explore nearby sea caves. During the summer, you’ll also have a chance to take a refreshing swim directly from the boat. Your journey begins with a panoramic view of the majestic natural harbor—one of the largest in the Mediterranean. You’ll sail past the ancient Italic Forum and catch a glimpse of luxurious yachts moored nearby. Look up to spot part of the striking façade of the Duomo (Cathedral of Syracuse) peeking over the rooftops. As you continue, you’ll pass the enchanting Fountain of Arethusa and the impressive Maniace Castle, which marks the edge of the harbor. Venturing into open sea, you'll be treated to stunning views of Ortigia Island’s colorful façades, elegant churches, and historic city walls—all even more captivating from the water. From there, we’ll head toward the northern coast of Syracuse. While enjoying fresh fruit and sipping cold juice, we’ll approach the caves. Weather permitting, we’ll begin with a 10-minute swim stop in the crystal-clear waters. Next comes the cave exploration: first, the Cappuccini Cave, followed by the Coral Cave, and finally the “Grotta Grande” (Great Cave), also known as the Cave of Stalactites. Inside, you’ll see incredible natural limestone formations that have developed over centuries—details we’ll reveal only once you're on board. (Please note: access to the caves is tide-dependent.) We’ll also pause in front of the famous “Cave of Love”—a heart-shaped grotto perfect for capturing beautiful souvenir photos. After a 45-minute coach drive to the cable station, you'll take the cable car up to the top of a mountain. Lipari Island and Pizza Demonstration *

Departing the pier by motor coach you will begin your sightseeing tour of Lipari. For the next 90 minutes you will make stops at s ome of the best viewpoints on the island, offering magnificent vistas of the Aeolian Archipelago. Then it's off to a local pizzeria, where the owners enthusiastically demonstrate how to make traditional Sicilian pizza . Perched on a terrace on the spectacular Amalfi Coast, Sorrento offers exceptional views of the Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius. 

Sorrento, Herculaneum *

The city of Herculaneum, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was founded around the 4th century B.C., copying the geometric regularity of the layout of Naples. Its "decumani" (main streets) have an east-west orientation, while the "cardines" (narrower streets) run north-south. There is undeniably a "feeling" about Herculaneum, quite different from Pompeii, where you get the impression that its ancient population of 5,000 packed up and left only moments ago. Herculaneum was smaller than Pompeii but is better preserved simply because, while hot ashes consumed the wood of Pompeii's buildings, Herculaneum was covered by hot mud which sealed and protected entire city blocks. This means that marble floors, mosaics, paintings and carbonized woods can still be admired today. You will discover the ancient luxurious properties and villas including the House of the Mosaic , the House of Deer , the Thermae (baths) and the House of Carbonized Furniture . After a guided tour, you will be driven back to meet the yacht in Sorrento. Please note : This tour involves considerable walking on uneven pathways. Bring a sun hat, as shade is limited. The town of Amalfi lies at the mouth of a deep ravine surrounded by dramatic cliffs and coastal scenery. The whole region is famed for its lemons, which are about double the size of other lemons, and the production of the limoncello liqueur. Amalfi, Highlights of Ravello & Amalfi *

You will set out from the harbor in Amalfi and enjoy a breathtaking panoramic 30-minute drive to Ravello -one of the most popular and well-known locations on the Amalfi Coast. You will see the duomo (cathedral) as you enter the main square. If the church is open, you will be able to peek inside at the majestic marble pulpit, richly cased with mosaic friezes and columns. You will visit Villa Rufolo with your guide, a spectacular complex formed by the main palace and various other buildings of Arabian-Sicilian style, arranged on a wide terrace facing the gulf. Walk along a small avenue till you'll arrive at the Moorish courtyard, which opens up onto a luxurious garden of pines, cypress and exotic plants. From here, you can descend to the lower terrace. In this enchanting city the past and present intersect in perfect harmony.
