Journey from Southern Italy to the Istrian Coast on this Italian charms & Croatian Coastline cruise. You’ll start in Vibo Valentia to see the beaches of Southern Italy. You can visit the Bronze Statues of Riace Warriors in Reggio Calabria. Next, stop in Taranto to gaze at Greek ruins. In Otranto, you will have a chance to see the historic conical homes in Alberobello. From Puglia, you will detour to the island of Rab in the Northern Dalmatia region of Croatia. Walk through Rovinj’s cobblestone streets up to the St. Euphemia Cathedral. Have an overnight in Dubrovnik. Your Calabrian to Istria pilgrimage continues in Montenegro, as you sail the fjord that leads to Kotor, a UNESCO site. Your final stop is in Piran, Slovenia. Take a tour to Lake Bled and visit Bled Church on an island in the middle of the lake. Your expedition ends in Venice, where you can explore the city at your own pace.

In this enchanting city the past and present intersect in perfect harmony. Casually intermingled among ancient ruins and majestic cathedrals are the trappings of a modern metropolis: Skyscrapers,cafes, boutiques selling designer footwear. Pretty Xlendi Bay lies on the west coast of Gozo, an island long thought to be the mythical Ogygia of Homer's Odyssey. In the story, Calypso fell in love with Odysseus and held him captive for seven years.. The reputed Calypso Cave is just one of several intriguing caves on the island. There's also Caroline's Cave, a natural grotto that was once a private swimming hole for nuns. Surprisingly for such a small island, Gozo is home to the oldest freestanding temples in the world, the Ggantija Temples, nestled among the rolling green hills. You should also visit the Citadella, a small, fortified town that houses the island's Cathedral, the Museum of Archaeology, the Folklore Museum, and the Old Prisons.

You will depart via motor coach and drive to Hal-Qormi, to Razzett l-Antik [Old Farmhouse]. There you will participate in a cooking challenge where you will be assigned to one of six kitchenettes, provided with setup, ingredients, aprons, and supervised by their Chef. Valletta, Mdina's Noble Heritage

Depart the quay and drive to The Silent City - Mdina , Malta's old Capital. Mdina is a medieval walled town situated on a hill in the center of the island. You will walk through the narrow streets of the town, visit St Paul's Cathedral , the Ramparts for a panoramic view, and Palazzo Falson , the best preserved palazzo of its period. Walk down any Maltese street in the town core, with its sheer limestone walls, studded doors and wooden 'gallarijas', and you will get few clues to what lies on the other side of these crumbling facades. Casa Bernard is a perfect example as its sober and imposing facade in the Mannerist 16th century architectural idiom reminiscent of Gerolamo Cassar betrays nothing of the calm, classic beauty that lies within. This walk usually lasts no more than 20 minutes at a slow pace. This is when Casa Bernard starts to shine, as apart from the beauty of its architecture one enjoys the many beautiful pieces of art both ancient and modern. Today you will have the opportunity to visit the amazing Agrigento and the Valley of the Temples, a UNESCO World Heritage Site . This splendid archaeological park consists of eight temples (and various other remains) built between about 510 B.C. and 430 B.C. You will see the Temple of Hera, the Temple of Concordia (one of the best preserved), the Temple of Heracles, the Temple of Olympian Zeus ( the largest temple), the Temple of Castor and Pollux, the Temple of Hephaestos, the Temple of Demeter, and the Temple of Asclepius (the God of Medicine). Apart from the Temple of Asclepius, which is found on the banks of the Akragas River, all are situated in the same area on rocky crests south of modern day Agrigento (not really in a valley at all!). Trapani, Walking Tour with Sicilian Coffee Break *

Trapani is an attractive old port town, rediscovering its charms after years of neglect. Halfway between Europe and Tunis, it was a rich trading center throughout the early Middle Ages, then, flourished again in the 19th and early 20th centuries as a stronghold of the tuna-canning industry. After that, it went into decline, and became a salty old port. Then, it was selected to host the 2004 America's Cup and received a massive injection of cash - buildings were restored, streets in the historic center pedestrianized - giving the town and its people a new confidence. These days Trapani is a thoroughly pleasant place to hang out for a couple of days. You will join your guide for a pleasant walking visit of the historical center of Trapani, with its many churches and palazzos with their ornate façades and elaborate interior, perfect examples of the Baroque style. At the end of the guided visit, enjoy a typical Sicilian coffee break including one cannolo and one coffee or one cappuccino, followed by 45 minutes of free time. At the conclusion of your tour you can leisurely walk back to the pier with your guide or continue to spend time in town returning to the ship on your own. Trapani, Erice *

To see the best of Sicily, you have to climb to great heights. And on this trip you'll do exactly that. After a 45-minute coach drive to the cable station, you'll take the cable car up to the top of a mountain. Take in the view out over the Trapani Salt Pans , the turquoise sea and all the way to the Egadi Islands - it's breathtaking. While you're up here, you'll explore the medieval town that is Erice . Wander the winding cobbled streets, listen to your guide give an informational takl outside the the Mother Church that's stood there for over 700 years, and admire the Castle of Venus where the son of Athena, goddess of love, built a temple in his mother's honor. And save some sighs for the gorgeous Balio Gardens in all their rainbow bright glory. Last, but not least, you'll have time to enjoy the atmosphere in Erice's tiny plaza, before you take the cable car back down to your waiting ship. Sorrento, Herculaneum *

The city of Herculaneum, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was founded around the 4th century B.C., copying the geometric regularity of the layout of Naples. Its "decumani" (main streets) have an east-west orientation, while the "cardines" (narrower streets) run north-south. There is undeniably a "feeling" about Herculaneum, quite different from Pompeii, where you get the impression that its ancient population of 5,000 packed up and left only moments ago. Herculaneum was smaller than Pompeii but is better preserved simply because, while hot ashes consumed the wood of Pompeii's buildings, Herculaneum was covered by hot mud which sealed and protected entire city blocks. This means that marble floors, mosaics, paintings and carbonized woods can still be admired today. You will discover the ancient luxurious properties and villas including the House of the Mosaic , the House of Deer , the Thermae (baths) and the House of Carbonized Furniture . You will set out from the harbor in Amalfi and enjoy a breathtaking panoramic 30-minute drive to Ravello -one of the most popular and well-known locations on the Amalfi Coast. You will see the duomo (cathedral) as you enter the main square. If the church is open, you will be able to peek inside at the majestic marble pulpit, richly cased with mosaic friezes and columns. You will visit Villa Rufolo with your guide, a spectacular complex formed by the main palace and various other buildings of Arabian-Sicilian style, arranged on a wide terrace facing the gulf. The city of Herculaneum, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was founded around the 4th century B.C., copying the geometric regularity of the layout of Naples. Its "decumani" (main streets) have an east-west orientation, while the "cardines" (narrower streets) run north-south. There is undeniably a "feeling" about Herculaneum, quite different from Pompeii, where you get the impression that its ancient population of 5,000 packed up and left only moments ago. Many of its narrow cobblestone streets are closed to traffic, making the main part of Taormina accessible only by foot. Leaving the pier by coach, you will begin with a brief drive through Messina for a 45-minute drive via the freeway and then motor along the coastal road bordered by villas, flowering gardens, and picturesque villages to reach Savoca . Krka National Park Highlights

Leaving the town of Trogir, you will take a 75-minute drive by coach to the famous Krka River Waterfalls . Located in lovely Krka National Park , the falls cascade over 17 natural barriers. Krka is one of the seven National Parks in Croatia and was formed to protect the Krka River. The whole area is rich with endemic species - vegetation as well as birds and fish. This tour will take you to the most attractive part of the park - the Skradinski Buk Waterfalls. The highest waterfall is 151 feet high which makes it the highest gypsum barrier in Europe . The lovely fishing port of Rovinj on the west coast of the Istrian peninsula bordered on three sides by the Adriatic Sea. You can tour the maze of cobblestone streets that lead to the hilltop St. Euphemia Cathedral with its towering steeple dominating the skyline. Old Town Rovinj is a delightful tangle of medieval streets and twisting stairways. Rovinj, Hum; The Smallest Town in the World

Depart the pier for a scenic drive to Roc Village, a cultural monument with well-preserved medieval town walls, a Roman lapidarium, a Venetian bombarda cannon, and a functional watchtower. Historic churches include the 11th-century Romanesque Church of St. Anthony, the small St. Roch Church with 14th-century frescoes, and the St. Bartholomew Parish Church, featuring an 85-foot-high (26-metre-high) steeple from 1676. After a short walking tour, visit a local artist’s workshop for a fresco presentation before continuing to Hum. En route, pass Glagolitic Alley, a scenic route lined with monuments honoring the history of the Glagolitic alphabet. Perched on a 1,145-foot-high (349-metre-high) hill, Hum has retained its medieval architecture and is often called the world's smallest town, with just 21 residents recorded in 2011. Explore its historic sites, including a 16th-century bell tower, the Church of St. Jerome with its classical façade from 1802, and the ‘Glagolitic wall writings,’ among the oldest Croatian Glagolitic literary artifacts. Visit the Museum of Hum, home to 1,500 artifacts in 11 thematic rooms showcasing daily life and crafts over the past 150 years, including an old pharmacy, school, distillery, tailor shop, and fresco painting workshop. End your tour at the Museum of Hum Aura and Distillery Bar Aura, housed in a medieval dwelling that later became the City Lodge, where local leaders once gathered to make important decisions.
