Outside the primitive walled enclosure lies the Plaza de España, built in the 16 th century, which, initially, held the bullfighting events organized by the nobles and knights of Vejer. For religious architecture, have a look at the Church of the Divine Saviour, constructed on the remains of a previous mosque, whose minaret is yet preserved. The styles go from the Mudejar and Gothic of the headboard, to Renaissance and Barroque. Some free time will be given to check the souvenirs shops or sit in any bar or cafe. Boarding the bus again, you will take the scenic "Atlantic Route," with its stunning countryside, passing by the Natural Park La Breña, a protected pine tree forest with cliffs of up to 328 feet (100 meters). The Rock's Apes spring to mind at the mention of the Rock of Gibraltar and here is where your next stop will take you. You will take a short walk down to King Charles V Wall, better known as 'Ape's Den' which seems to be a usual habitat of the apes, which are indeed a breed of tailless monkeys (Macaca Sylvanus), that roam free on the rocky slopes. They are endearing creatures with a penchant for handbags to say nothing of cameras and hats. Reboard your bus, which will take you on a short drive to Princess Caroline's Battery, a former artillery battery located at the northern end of the Gibraltar Nature Reserve. It was constructed in 1732 and named after the third daughter of King George II. You will be transferred to the City Hall, to visit the Mayor's Parlour and enjoy some cold canapes and beverages. You will then be given some time to roam the building in its entirety including the National Art Gallery. Have your cameras ready as you are allowed to take photos of all the works of art which are on display. Who knows, if you are lucky, you might even run into His Worship the Mayor of Gibraltar and get a chance to have a chat with him and even take a photo with him. Just a few kilometers from the Port of Cartagena, this beautiful hacienda will delight you with the magnificent steeds of the ranch, pure Spanish-bred horses with fine bloodlines and a graceful appearance. You will have the special opportunity meet the family and ask them questions. These carefully bred horses are sent to horse lovers all over the world. Looking and even touching the broodmares, seeing the foals and new babies, watching the impressive stampede show, the Spanish Horse Training and the art of managing stallions are some of the things you will enjoy during the visit to the ranch. But just before returning to the pier, and while tasting some snacks you will be treated with an Andalusian dancer and a stallion performance. Enjoy the amazing scenery on your return to the yacht. The old building of the Casino of Murcia is your next stop before heading back to your ship. One of Cartagena's greatest treasures is its tasteful and colorful cuisine. You will enjoy a leisurely walk along the city's seafront with your guide as you head towards the historical Old Town , where you will view some of Cartagena's most famous sights, including the Palace Hall , Maritime Wall and impressive modernist buildings. Along the way you will stop at five local tapas bars , where each chef will have prepared traditional tapas of the day (tapas may include Albondigas, Spanish omelet, local cheeses or cured ham for you to sample), accompanied by a glass of sangria, wine or soft drink. Your final stop on the tour will be the recently restored Roman Theatre of Carthago Nova , where you will have some time inside for taking photos, before walking back to your ship. Please note : Wear comfortable clothing and walking shoes. Approximately 2 hours of walking is required so this tour is not recommended for those with mobility issues or wheelchairs.
