Puerto Jimenez, Sloth Walking Trails

Explore the rainforest of the Osa Peninsula on a guided tour through a locally owned small preserve. The Valverde family protected this small area in La Perica on the Osa Peninsula from being developed into farmland like much of the region. After a brief orientation with your knowledgeable English speaking guide, you'll spend 90 minutes walking the trails with your guide looking for wildlife and learning the history of the preserve. Sloths, macaws, and other wildlife are attracted to this peaceful and well-preserved forested area. After your tour of the preserve, you'll enjoy fresh fruit, homemade empanadas, and refreshments. Please note : It's recommended that guests wear sandals or water shoes as this tour involves a wet landing. Additionally, guests should bring comfortable walking shoes, a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, and sunglasses.
