No other sea approach in the Adriatic raises goose bumps like Venice, a small ship exclusive where the entire city and its lagoon are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. On your luxurious home-away-from home, you arrive already equipped with a sense of what it's like to live in the city that's neither land nor water. Add your own sigh to the Bridge of Sighs, sip a spritz al bitter as you plot your agenda, and let the water taxis do your navigating unless you don't mind getting lost. Not such a bad prospect, with serendipitous discoveries around every corner.

Less than two hours from Rome, the port city of Naples was founded by the Greeks, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is unlike any other city in Italy.  It is a busy, bustling place where mini-operettas take place on street corners, Vespas scoot across the pedestrian piazzas, the small narrow streets are hanging thick with laundry and graffiti is everywhere. But Naples is full of archaeological treasures that are among the most impressive in the world, including breathtaking frescoes and sculptures. Its beautiful palaces, castles and churches make Rome look provincial. And the food in Naples is among the best you'll find in Italy, serving decadent pizza, pasta, coffee, and seafood dishes you'll never forget.

Naples, Royal Palace of Caserta

Board your coach for the Caserta Royal Palace. Blending the grandeur of Versailles, the elegance of Rome, and the charm of Tuscany, the Caserta Royal Palace and Park, located north of Naples, was designed by Luigi Vanvitelli, one of the most renowned Italian architects of the 18th century, following the vision of Charles of Bourbon III. A masterpiece of Italian Baroque, Caserta was revolutionary for its time. The palace and its vast gardens span 11 acres, featuring pools, fountains, and cascading waterfalls that are perfectly aligned to create a stunning 'telescope effect,' stretching endlessly into the horizon. You'll enjoy a guided visit of the palace with an educated guide to walk you through the palace's history. Afterwards, you will have free time to explore and ship before you board your coach back to Naples. Please note: We recommend you wear comfortable walking shoes and dress in layered clothing.

Naples, Herculaneum

Board your coach for a scenic 45-minute bus ride to Herculaneum, where you will step back in time to explore this ancient city. Founded around the 4th century BC, Herculaneum mirrored Naples in its geometric layout, featuring east-west "decumano" (main streets) and north-south "cardines" (narrower streets). Unlike Pompeii, which feels as if its 5,000 residents departed just moments before the eruption, Herculaneum exudes a distinct atmosphere. Though smaller, Herculaneum is better preserved because, while Pompeii's wood was destroyed by hot ashes, Herculaneum was enveloped by hot mud that shielded its buildings. This has preserved its marble floors, mosaics, paintings, and carbonized wood. Explore its opulent properties, including the House of the Mosaic, the House of Deer, the Thermae (baths), and the House of Carbonized Furniture. After your guided tour, return to meet the yacht. It's an odd bit of Britain here at the toe of Spain, with Barbary apes and miles of tunnels as well as traditional red phone boxes. Legend says Gibraltar was one of the two pillars erected by Hercules to mark the edge of the world. Take the cable car to the top to see if you can see it from here. No, that's not it. That's just Africa. What a view.

Mallorca is steep, green, and fringed with enticing coves and more than 200 lush beaches. But all that natural beauty is just the beginning. Stroll along the tree-shaded Paseo de Born in search of tapas. Shop for a Siurell; a traditional red, green, and white clay whistle dating back to the time of the Moors. Watch the street performers on the piazza around the church, or cross the island to beautiful Sóller. Not to be missed is the cultural landscape of the Serra de Tramuntana, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
