Malaga by Segway *

Some things are just plain fun and riding a Segway around Spain definitely falls into that category. It takes a few minutes to get the hang of it; then you'll never want to get off! You'll begin your ride (after an introduction to the operation of the Segway) at Plaza de la Marina , in the center of Málaga. Continue to Larios Street , the main shopping avenue of the city, then on to Merced Square , at the end of Calle Alcazabilla, to see the obelisk erected as a tribute to General Torrijos, currently the headquarters of the Picasso Foundation. Next you will ride to the Santiago Church , built on the site of a former mosque and Málaga's oldest church (founded in 1490). You'll also visit the Roman Theatre , discovered in 1951, which was built in the time of Caesar Augustus and used until the 3rd century A.D. After that time, it was used as a quarry by the Moors to restore the Alcazaba, which is the next stop on your tour. This impressive building, constructed mainly in the 11th century, was the palace/fortress of the ruling Muslims. Continuing on your tour, you'll see the Catedral de la Encarnacion , Bishop Square, and the Paseo del Parque , before returning to Marina Square. Please note : This tour is not possible for people confined to wheelchairs. The minimum age to participate is 18 and participants must weigh between 66 and 265 pounds. Helmets will be provided. Participants must sign a waiver to go on this excursion.

Malaga, Culture and Tapas in the Heart of Malaga

Málaga is located in the center of the Costa del Sol. Many ancient civilizations have left their marks. which you will discover in Málaga's rich exterior archaeological remains and fascinating monuments. You will admire the beautiful architecture of the Alcazaba Palace, a historic castle built in the 11 th century to be the residence of the Arabian Caliphs or Kings. From the outside view Gibralfaro Castle, built in the 14 th century, constructed by Yusuf I of Granada on an old Phoenician enclosure that also contained a light that gives name to the Gibralfaro hill (Jbel-Faro, or mounts of the light). During the bus ride you will also admire the ruins of the former Roman Theater of Malaga on the foot of the hill of the Fortress, Alcazaba, with a short walking tour accompanied by a guide for those who want to walk. After panoramic views proceed to the Cathedral and then enjoy tapas and beverages in a private area inside one of the best Tapas restaurants in Malaga.

Malaga & Picasso Walking Tour *

Those of you who delight in ancient history and art lovers cannot miss this tour! With half a million inhabitants, Málaga is located in the center of the Costa del Sol. From the outside you will admire the beautiful architecture of the Alcazaba Fortress, a historic castle built in the 11th century to be the residence of the Arabian Caliphs or Kings. It is connected by a step path to Gibralfaro Castle, an ancient Moorish fortress with breathtaking views of the city and its bay. Buses will take you to the castle so you won't have to walk up the hill. The Museo Picasso Málaga is run by the Fundación Museo Picasso de Málaga and the Fundación Paul, Christine y Bernard Ruiz-Picasso. The Fundación Paul, Christine y Bernard Ruiz-Picasso is the rightful owner of the collection there, whereas the Fundación Museo Picasso de Málaga owns the group of buildings that holds it. As was initially agreed by the donors, the two foundations are responsible for the conservation, exhibition, study and diffusion of the collection. At the museum, you will be able to appreciate all Picasso styles and techniques (Painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramic and graphic works in an exhibition with 155 works ranging from 1890 up to 1973. Please note : This tour involves more than 2 hours of walking over uneven and cobblestone surfaces and steps are involved. Wear comfortable walking shoes.

Tangier, Tangier on Foot *

Tangier is a fascinating city to visit and contrary to popular belief the movie Casablanca was based on Tangier, not Casablanca. It is an interesting mix of North African, Spanish and French cultures. Your coach will take you on a 30-minute drive to the entrance of the Kasbah of Tangier. Walk inside the Kasbah and then you will head uphill to an area barely changed since Roman times. Back down the hill you will find yourself in one of Tangier's most colorful and bustling areas, the Grand Souk . It is the link between the medina and the new city. You will stop at the Continental Hotel for a refreshment before boarding your coach for the return trip to your waiting ship. Please note : Wear comfortable walking shoes. This tour is not wheelchair accessible nor suitable for guests with mobility issues.

Casablanca, Imperial City of Rabat *

Depart via motor coach from the pier for your 90-minute ride to Rabat, the capital of Morocco. Your first stop will be outside the Royal Palace, then on to the must-see Mausoleum of Mohammed V & Hassan Tower , containing the tombs of the late Moroccan king and his two sons. Your next stop will be to the Kasbah Oudaya Medina , Rabat's old district, full of maze-like streets where you will get a good idea of what a traditional medina in Morocco is all about. Meander down the hill to the Andalusian Gardens for a cup of Moroccan tea as you overlook the river and the city of Sale before heading back to Casablanca. Casablanca, Magical Marrakech - Full Day *

You will leave the port of Casablanca in your air-conditioned coach for the 3.5-hour trip to Marrakech ; a comfort stop will be made on the road. On arrival in Marrakech, you'll drive to the Medina where you will start your tour with an inside visit to the Majorelle Gardens . Enjoy a short walk in what was home to the late Yves Saint Laurent and houses a collection of plants from all over the world. Depart from the garden in a horse-drawn carriage Lunch will be served in a Moroccan restaurant in the heart of the Old Medina.. Then you'll continue your tour to the holy site of Medersa Ben Youssef. The current structure of this Koranic school was built around 1570 and is the biggest Medersa (school) in the Maghreb. Then on to the labyrinth of souks. Souk Smarine is a maze of colors, home to a bewildering array of stalls and ateliers devoted to specific crafts. End up at the bustling Djemaa El Fna Square, a multitude of street artists and stalls of dried fruit or orange juice freshly pressed as you watch. This is the beating heart of Marrakech, where fire eaters, mime artisits, snake charmers and street musicians are performing at every turn. You will enjoy a cup of Moroccan tea at a local venue before returning to Casablanca. Please note: Wear comfortable walking shoes. Bring sunglasses, sunscreen, a hat and local currency. Then it's on to the highlight of your tour - a visit to the inside of the majestic Hassan II Mosque , the third largest mosque in the world and the only one that allows non-Muslims to come inside in Morocce. You will also see that the mosque is the tallest building in Casablanca, by royal decree, so there are no commercial high rise buildings here. Enjoy lunch at Café Chewika or similar. Back on the road, you will travel along the coast admiring the golden beaches along the scenic Corniche . You will make a stop for pictures and refreshments. Then it's on to New Medina, a modern development where you will view, from the exterior, the Royal Palace, the Regional Law Courts. Walk in the Habous Quarter where you will admire the colorful stands where local have in display traditional Moroccan artifacts and fabrics. You will also visit the inside of the Notre Dame de Lourdes Church and possibly have free time to browse at United Nations Square. Funchal, City Highlights and Cable Car *

Explore the adventurous city of Funchal, capital of Madeira and Portugal's largest town. You will board your motor coach for the short 10-minute drive to the center of town. Walk through the vibrant local market, explore the Old Town where the first settlement of the city was born. This old part of the city is characterized by its narrow sidewalk streets and façades of old houses and is considered a historical area of great architectural and patrimonial value. You will climb to Monte by cable car. This village located at an elevation of 1,772 feet high was the last residence of Carlos I of Austria, who is buried in the Church of Our Lady of Monte. Finally you will have a 25-minute drive to visit the Old Blandy Wine Lodge in the center of Funchal which acts as an excellent show place for many the finest wines of Madeira. You will taste four 5-years-old wines accompanied by some delicious snacks. Please note: Wear comfortable walking shoes. Guests must be legal age to consume alcohol. The market and the Old Blandy Lodge are closed Saturday afternoons, Sundays and public holidays all day. A visit to the church of Monte is not included and is closed on Sundays and public holidays.
